About Yemenia
Yemenia, the country's national airline, is based at Sana'a. Yemenia is the hub for domestic and international scheduled flights to Africa and the Middle East. Yemenia had to suspend all operations in March 2015 due to military disruptions at Sana's International Airport. After that, the airline moved its operations to Aden International Airport, where it continues to operate most of its services. Yemenia was granted permission to return to Sana's International Airport in February 2016. However, commercial services from Sana'a were not permitted until May 2022 due to conflict.
Yemenia is a member the Arab Air Carriers Organisation. It operates scheduled services to more than 13 destinations using a mixture of Airbus aircraft. Yemenia has many destinations in northern Africa, the Horn of Africa, and the Middle East. The airline used to have a network that extended to Europe, Asia, and further Africa. However, this route network was discontinued.
