About Tara Air
Tara Air, a Nepali airline, is based in Kathmandu. The airline's base is at Tribhuvan International Airport. A secondary hub is at Nepalgunj Airport.
Tara Air was established in 2009 by Yeti Airlines as a subsidiary. It used aircraft from the Yeti Airlines fleet. Tara Air was founded to operate Yeti’s STOL (Short Takeoff and Landing), flights. It focuses on remote and mountainous airstrips and airports. Tara Air offers the longest flights to remote STOL areas in Nepal. It transports essential supplies, food, medicine, and relief materials.
The airline currently operates scheduled and charter flights, with a focus on remote and mountainous airstrips and airports.
Tara Air fly to most popular tourist destinations in Nepal including Mt Everest.

Tara Air is one of the most prominent airline service providers in the Nepalese mountains. The company was founded with the goal of supporting rural Nepal. Our service is therefore concentrated in the mountains and hills of Nepal, from the Far East up to the Far West.
We currently have a fleet consisting of three STOL aircraft. These include Twin Otters (DHC6/300 &400).
We fly scheduled and charter flights to all major airports throughout the country.
Tara Air Facilities
Special services can be provided by the airline for people with disabilities and those who require additional assistance. Although the airline will do their best to accommodate your needs, there might be restrictions due to aircraft limitations. To avoid disappointment, please contact the customer service team at least 48 hours prior to your flight.
Tara Air Destinations And Hubs
Daily domestic flights are operated by the airline between Kathmandu, Lukla and Jomsom as well as between Pokhara and Pokhara. Scheduled flights are also offered to other destinations by the airline, with varying frequencies, such as Simikot, Bajura and Phaplu.
Tribhuvan International Airport in Kathmandu is the preferred airport for most tourists to Mt Everest.
Flying to Lukla Airport is the best way to get to Everest. Tribhuvan International Airport is the only airport from which flights to Lukla are available. Tara Air is the only regional airline that offers this connection flight between Tribhuvan, Lukla.

Check in at the Airport
Airport check-in for all Tara Air flights is possible. It is currently the only method to check in. The check-in deadlines vary depending on the airport from which the passenger is departing. Tara Air reserves the right to refuse boarding. Please ensure that you verify the check-in times before you leave.
