About SATENA
Satena is a Colombian regional airline based in Bogota and operates flights throughout Colombia. It's has a main hub located at El Dorado International Airport. The airline was launched by the Colombian Government in 1962 to provide air transportation to the remoter regions of Colombia. By 2007 the airline has grown into a major regional carrier operating a large number of domestic services on a very modern fleet of small commuter aircraft. Satena flies to over 40 destinations across South America such as Mexico, Jamaica, Cuba and Pasto.
SATENA Reservations Overview
Servicio Aereo a Territorios Nacionales, the acronym is SATENA. In April 1962, SATENA was established by the President of the Republic, Alberto Lleras Camargo. It is an airline based in Fontibón, Bogota, and owned by the Colombian government. In order to keep the government stable, SATENA was entrusted to the Colombian Air Force. The first operation route was Leticia – Tarapacá – El Encanto – Puerto Leguízamo and Bogotá – Leticia. During 1965, the airline partnered with Bank of Bogota to provide a new service called AeroBanco, which facilities air travel to other larger areas.

Domestic destinations include the primary hub airport at El Dorado International Airport, Bogota, and secondary hub at Olaya Herrera Airport, Medellin.
There are many flight from hub airports to Cali, Barranquilla, Bucaramanga, and Tumaco.
SATENA international destination includes one occasional charter to Mexico at Cancún International Airport, Cancun. moreover, there are two scheduled charters in Jamaica at Kingston and Montego Bay and one in Cuba.
SATENA Check-In Information
Online Check-In
Online check-in is available on the Satena web check-in page. To complete online check-in, passengers will need to enter the relevant details of their booking between 24–2 hours before their flight is scheduled to depart. For a quick and easy process at the airport, please have your boarding pass printed and ready to show at the check-in desk.
Airport Check-In
Passengers can check in at the airport for their flight by visiting one of the check-in agents and the check-in desk. The airport check-in deadline is one hour before the scheduled flight departure time if you have baggage to drop off. Whereas, airport check-in deadline is 45 minutes before the scheduled flight departure time if you only have carry-on baggage or no baggage at all.

Carry-on Baggage
Passengers are entitled to one item of carry-on baggage and one personal item. Carry-on baggage must not exceed 5kg / 11lbs in weight and must fit within the dimensions of 43cm x 34cm x 20cm (17in x 13in x 8in). Personal items must fit within the dimensions of 15cm x 20cm x 10cm (6in x 8in x 4in). You must not pack any prohibited items in you're carry-on as this will be removed and disposed at security. Prohibited items include illegal substances, liquids over 100ml, explosives and flammable liquids.
Checked Baggage
Passengers are allowed 15kg / 55lbs of checked baggage, included in the price of their ticket.
