About PAL Express
PAL Express, formerly known as Air Philippines Corporation, is a wholly-owned subsidiary airline under Philippine Airlines. It is PAL's regional airline, offering services from its hubs Manila and Clark.
Air Philippines has been re-branded numerous times. First as Air Philippines, then as Air Phil Express. Now it is known as PAL Express. After suffering financial losses, Air Philippines stopped operations. Then it was purchased by investors from Philippine Airlines. After the acquisition, the airline was relaunched as PAL Express. This airline operated some of the same routes and slot assignments as its sister company Philippine Airlines. The carrier's management then decided to rebrand it as Air Phil Express.
