Keewatin Air, IATA: FK, is an airline that operates out of Winnipeg, Manitoba, Canada. It was founded by Frank Robert May, who had previously been a pilot with Lamb Air, and Judy Saxby in 1971 in the Keewatin Region.
To provide charter services to the area, it was originally called "Keewatin Air Limited". It was the first airline in the Northwest Territories to establish a permanent base at Nunavut. It expanded its services to include medical evacuation (MEDEVAC). In 1987, it began with a Trade wind aircraft - a modified Beech 18 with a turbo engine and tricycle gear. The Westwind, a modified Beech 18 with turboprop engines, was next. The MEDEVAC service has been renamed "Nunavut Lifeline".[6] Currently, [when?] three Kingair200 aircraft are based at Rankin Inlet and one in Churchill in Manitoba. Two in Iqaluit. The airline also has a Pilatus PC-12 which is used to access the short runways.
