Henan Airlines, a charter airline offering regional services in northern China, was founded in 2016. The airline was founded by Shenzhen Airlines, Mesa Air Group, and initially operated under the name Kunpeng Airlines. In 2009, Shenzhen Airlines purchased Mesa Air Group's share in the airline and now owns 100% of Kunpeng Airlines. Soon thereafter, Shenzhen Airlines changed its name to Kunpeng Airlines Henan Airlines. This was the name it used until its end.
Henan Airlines was originally known as Kunpeng Airlines and offered both cargo and passenger services. It also provided charter services when it launched. Henan Airlines ceased to offer passenger and cargo services in its final years of operation.
