About Helijets

Helijet Internationalis a helicopter flight and charter service that is based in Richmond , British Columbia. Scheduled passenger helicopter airline services operate flights from Vancouver International Airport(YVR), downtown Vancouver and downtown Nanaimo. It also has a charter division (Helijet charters), which serves the film, television and aerial tour markets as well as helicopter and Jet ambulance services. Its main hangar and head office is Vancouver International Airport.

The Vancouver Harbour Heliport is located at the shores and inlet of Burrard Inlet. It is adjacent to Waterfront Station. The actual heliport can be found in the Harbour waters. Helijet, which operates rotary wing and fixed-wing medevac aircraft, is also the largest air medical provider in British Columbia.

Helijet also has a base at Sandspit Airport that is open all year. It provides helicopter services between Masset Airport, and many fishing lodges in the Haida Gwaii region during the BC fishing season. To facilitate this service, fishing lodges have an operational helipad that can transport passengers and cargo.

Helijet launched a new scheduled passenger service on March 11, 2015. The company used Sikorsky S-76 helicopters to fly seven roundtrip flights each weekday between its downtown heliport in Vancouver Harbour, and the Nanaimo Harbour Heliport at the Nanaimo Cruise Ship Welcome Centre.

Helijet Check-in and boarding pass

Vancouver Harbour or Vancouver Airport, Victoria Harbour or Nanaimo Harbour: All passengers must check-in at least twenty minutes prior to the flight departure time. The flight board may take away your seats. Failing to check-in could result in a penalty of no-show and cancellations on any subsequent/return flights.

For refunds, changes in payment methods after travel, reservations changes (subject to individual fare regulations) and copies of receipts or invoices, service charges may be applicable.

Baggage policy and Fees

There may be a difference in the allowance for personal bags depending on which route you take and what aircraft you fly. It is important to confirm restrictions before you pack for travel in order to make your check-in process as smooth as possible.

Pet policy

  • Helijet will not allow pets to be carried in the cargo hold or passenger cabin for the comfort and well-being passengers and their pets. The cargo hold is not as sound-proofed or pressurized as the passenger cabin. It is also very noisy and cannot be controlled.
  • Helijet also does not transport pets of any kind, or laboratory/medical animals.

Refund and Cancellation Policy

  • Reservations require a credit card to book. Payment is due at check-in. All figures and fare are shown in Canadian Dollars, unless noted otherwise. The displayed fares are valid for one way per person and include applicable taxes (GST), fees, and charges.
    All seats can be booked until boarding time. The listed fares are subject to inventory control based on availability.
  • All fares can be changed, cancelled or refunded until 5pm on the day before departure, unless otherwise noted. All bookings made on the same day are non-refundable.

The Helijet Local Domestic Tariff Rule 120 states that liability for personal property (including baggage and goods) is limited to $500 per passenger.
