Dirck Dey constructed the Dey Mansion from the land he bought in 1717. Dirck Dey built the east wing and his son Theunis added a 12-foot center hall to complete the mansion. The mansion's front is built using brick from the site. Little Falls Quarry supplied sandstone quoins. The rest of the house was constructed using field stones and split quarry. George Washington used the home several times during the revolution as his headquarters. The Dey Mansion can now be accessed by the public throughout the year. The Dey Mansion is owned by the County of Passaic and managed by the Department of Cultural & Historic Affairs.

It was named after Albert Payson Terhune. Terhune, a 19th century writer, wrote many stories and books about dogs. Terhune made sure Sunnybank, Wayne's estate, was preserved before his death. It is located in Oakland near Pompton Lake. It is home to mature trees and bushes, which Terhune and his wife planted. It is both a memorial to Terhune's wife and a tribute for him. The Terhune Memorial Park- Sunnybank is maintained by the Wayne Township Department of Parks and Recreation. The Terhune Collection is housed at the Van Riper-Hopper Historical House Museum, which also houses awards and books for collie dogs.

You can find the Van Riper-Hopper House in Wayne, New Jersey. It was built in 1786 for Uriah Van Riper and his family. Van Riper-Hopper House is one of the oldest New Jersey houses and now the Wayne Township Museum. The house was officially dedicated to the Wayne Township Museum in 1964. This house was built in the Dutch Colonial-style. The second hallway on the second level was finished in the 1950s. A second floor was completed with closets and dressers. This was not the Dutch Colonial Style. The design of the house was influenced by the landscape and available construction materials.
