You can find the Van Riper-Hopper House in Wayne, New Jersey. It was built in 1786 for Uriah Van Riper and his family. Van Riper-Hopper House is one of the oldest New Jersey houses and now the Wayne Township Museum. The house was officially dedicated to the Wayne Township Museum in 1964. This house was built in the Dutch Colonial-style. The second hallway on the second level was finished in the 1950s. A second floor was completed with closets and dressers. This was not the Dutch Colonial Style. The design of the house was influenced by the landscape and available construction materials.
