Richards Congress Avenue Bridge is their home. These insect-destroying critters make up the largest urban bat colony in the world, with over one-and-a-half million. Between March and November, they take to the skies every night.

They fly spectacularly, flying under bridges and up to two miles in large formations. It can take the fuzzy mammals up to 45 minutes to leave home. The babies or pups can fly with their mothers to the evening flight when they are old enough.
