Bakersfield is a City located in Kern County, California, United States. It is the County's seat and the largest in Kern County. It is situated in the San Joaquin Valley area, and covers approximately 151 sq. miles (390 km2). According to the 2020 census, Bakersfield was home to 403,455. It is the 48th most populous US town and the 9th largest in California. In 2020, Bakersfield-Delano Metropolitan Statistical Area (which encompasses all Kern County) had a population estimate of 909235.
