From July to early September is the rainy season. At 7,000 feet, Santa Fe and Taos have midsummer highs of the low 90s (F). Albuquerque, located at 5,300ft, is approximately 10 degrees hotter. Summer temperatures in the deserts and plains can reach 100 degrees. Winter days in Santa Fe, Taos and other areas can reach 50 degrees. There is some snow that melts but not all of it. The lower Rio Grande Valley receives less than 2 inches of snow, while the ski resorts get up to 300. Both spring and autumn have mild weather.
