Austin-Bergstrom International Airport, or ABIA, is an international Class C airport located in Austin, Texas. It was formerly known as BSM. It is located approximately 5 miles (8km) southwest of Downtown Austin. It covers 4,242 acres (1.717 ha). There are two runways as well as three helicopterpads.
It was once Bergstrom Air Force Base. Named after Captain John August Earl Bergstrom (a US Air Force officer who served with 19th Bombardment Group), the airport and U.S Air Force base are now. The airport took over Robert Mueller Municipal Airport, Austin's main airport. It is Texas' third busiest airport, after Dallas/Fort Worth International Airport or George Bush Intercontinental Airport. There are 510 departures and arrivals per week to 76 destinations in North America, Europe and North America.
