Three new Spirit Airlines Western routes are introduced by Las Vegas Airport Spirit Airlines introduced three additional routes to Albuquerque and Boise airports for passengers flying from Harry Reid International Airport Las Vegas.
Spirit Airlines announced an expansion to the west, with new service to Albuquerque International Support (ABQ), Boise Airport (BOI) and Reno-Tahoe International Airports (RNO). In August 2022, all three markets will be open for daily nonstop flights to Harry Reid International Airport (LAS).
John Kirby, Spirit Airlines Vice President of Network Planning, stated that "Announcing three markets is an exciting milestone in Spirit Airlines and for our passengers as it provides more high-value options travel between the bright lights and Vegas and the vast variety of beautiful places to see in New Mexico, Idaho and Northern Nevada." We are excited to welcome these new communities to our network, and provide 'More Go" for our passengers as Spirit Airlines celebrates its 20th anniversary of serving LAS.
The new service will increase the carrier's presence to Las Vegas to 41 destinations nonstop and up to 75 peak day departures. This represents a nearly 30% increase in Spirit's service to LAS year-over-year. Passengers flying from ABQ and BOI can also connect through LAS to over a dozen destinations. Spirit recently announced nonstop service between LAS and Memphis and Salt Lake City.
"Spirit Airlines is LAS's second busiest airline in 2021," said Chris Jones, Chief Marketing Officer at Harry Reid International Airport. We look forward to welcoming more visitors from Reno and Albuquerque. These three markets are great for vacationers, athletes, students, and business travelers.
Richard McCurley from the City of Albuquerque, Director of Aviation, said that Spirit's entry to the Albuquerque marketplace was a direct result of passengers using non-stop, direct flight options. We are excited about the future and look forward for a strong partnership that will bring more connections to New Mexico residents.
Boise Airport Director Rebecca Hupp stated that Spirit Airlines will be visiting Boise this summer. "Adding daily service on a low-cost carrier to BOI will give more BOI customers access the endless attractions and lures of Las Vegas."
Shaun Carey, Chairman Reno-Tahoe Airport Authority, said that "We are excited about joining the Spirit family." "The addition of Spirit Airlines flights from RNO-LAS will give us more options, which is great news in northern Nevada." Reno-Tahoe continues its growth as a destination for air service. People want to see the region and fly from RNO to get to their desired destination.
