Frontier Airlines has expanded its service to Long Island MacArthur Airport and is now offering more desirable destinations like Chicago, New Orleans, and Miami.

Frontier will also serve Minneapolis, Atlanta, Detroit, and Charlotte as nonstop flight operators from the Islip airport. This announcement was made by officials of the low-cost carrier two months after Frontier started service out of MacArthur, with direct flights to Orlando, Fla.

The 10-city expansion includes three additional Florida destinations: Tampa, Fort Myers, and West Palm Beach.

In a press conference, executives from the Denver-based airline stated that the new destinations would be implemented in two phases. Five cities will open on October 5, while the remaining five cities will open in spring 2018.

Nonstop Frontier flights beginning Oct. 5:

• Miami (MIA), twice daily starting Oct. 10, increasing too once daily
• Tampa (TPA), once daily
• West Palm Beach (PBI), once a day
• New Orleans (MSY), Monday to Saturday, Sunday and Wednesday
• Fort Myers (RSW), once daily

Frontier will offer $39 one-way tickets as a kick-off promotion to early ticket buyers, just like it did with Orlando.
