About Bangkok Airways 

The airline was founded in 1968 as Sahakol Air and began providing air-taxi services through contracts with the United States Operations Mission (USOM), Overseas International Construction Company (OICC), an American construction firm, and a number of other organisations involved in oil and natural gas exploration in the Gulf of Thailand. The first privately owned domestic airline in Thailand, it launched regular services in 1986.

In 1989, it changed its name to Bangkok Airways. Bangkok Dusit Medical Services (1.2%), Prasert Prasarttong-Osoth (92.31%), Sahakol Estate (4.3%), and other stockholders own the airline (2.19 percent). Siem Reap Airways, a subsidiary airline, is likewise owned entirely by it. Ko Samui's own airport, which opened in April 1989 and provides direct flights to Chiang Mai, Hong Kong, was developed by the company.

Facilities 

Pets are only allowed to be cats and dogs. As of January 1, 2021, the following dog breeds and brachycephalic breeds (snub-nosed dogs) are prohibited from being accepted as checked baggage (AVIH) or transported in the cargo compartment for their safety and wellbeing. The animal will live in the aeroplane hold (AVIH), which is underneath the passenger area, in a safe, temperature-controlled home.

Baggage And Refund policies

The maximum weight for one piece of checked luggage is 32 kilogrammes, according Airport of Thailand regulations. If a single piece of luggage weighs more than 32 pounds, it must be repackaged. Sports equipment is accepted as checked luggage on Bangkok Airways as part of your usual baggage allowance. Any weight that is exceeded as a result of this inclusion will be charged at the aforementioned excess charge rate. 

Excess baggage cannot be refunded. Verified Baggage Maximum weight limits for adults, children, and infants in economy class are 20 kilogrammes and 10 kilogrammes, respectively. The maximum weight allowed in Blue Ribbon Class (Business Class) is 40 kilos for adults, 10 kilogrammes for children, and 5 kilogrammes for infants.

Prepaid Baggage:

Passengers who would want to purchase additional luggage allowance can do so through the call centre, the ticketing office of Bangkok Airways, www.bangkokair.com , or the Managing My Booking section of our website, as well as through a ticketing agent. It is necessary to buy prepaid luggage at least four (4) hours before departure. Only flights operated by Bangkok Airways are subject to pre-paid baggage.
