About Air Tanzania
Air Tanzania Company Limited (ATCL), (Swahili : Kampuni ya Ndege ya Tanzania), is Tanzania's flag carrier airline. It is based in Dar es Salaam and has its hub at Julius Nyerere International Airport.
After the dissolution in 1977 of East African Airways, Air Tanzania Corporation (ATC), was formed. It has been a member since inception of the African Airlines Association. The Tanzanian government owned the airline until 2002, when it was privatized in partnership with South African Airways. However, the government purchased the shares again in 2006, making it a government-owned company.

Baggage Policy & Fees
Air Tanzania passengers can bring one piece of cabin baggage and one personal item onboard, including a briefcase or camera bag. You can fit your carry-on luggage under the seat or into the overhead bins of Air Tanzania.
Pet policy
Pets such as cats, dogs and birds of the household (birds are not allowed on domestic flights) may be brought onboard for $125 each way. Travel outside of the United States is subject to a $200 fee.
The pet must be placed in a carrier box which fits under the front seat. The carrier is considered one piece of Air Tanzania luggage.
Refund Policy and Cancellation Policy
Air Tanzania's 24-hour cancellation policy allows passengers to cancel any flight they have booked with Air Tanzania within 24 hours. If the booking was made more than a week before the departure date of your Air Tanzania flight, Air Tanzania will refund your entire ticket cost. Air Tanzania has the right to cancel any Air Tanzania flight within 24 hours.
