About Air Asia X

AirAsia X, also known as AirAsia X Berhad, is a budget long-haul airline based in Malaysia. It is a sister company to AirAsia. AirAsia X, a low-cost affiliate carrier airline of AirAsia Group, currently flies in the Asia Pacific region.Other subsidiaries of AirAsia include AirAsia Thailand, Indonesia AirAsia and Indonesia AirAsia.

AirAsia X was founded in 2001. It has hubs at Kuala Lumpur and Penan as well as Johor Bahru, Penan and Kuching. AirAsia X has a core fleet consisting of 29 A330 300s. Each aircraft is equipped with a configuration of 12 Premium Flatbeds or 365 Economy seats. Since its inception of long-haul service, the airline has transported over 15 million passengers. AirAsia X introduced Premium Flatbeds seats for long-haul low-fare carriers. They have a 20” width and 60” pitch, and can be repositioned to a full-recline position.

Air Asia X Classes

AirAsia X does not have a Business Class cabin. Its Premium Economy cabin, however, is very similar to other airlines’ Business Class.

Economy Class

AirAsia X’s Economy Class is one of two cabin classes that the airline offers.

Economy Class Facilities

The price of your ticket includes a complimentary cabin bag.Passengers have the option to purchase food, snacks, and drinks from the airline’s inflight menu. Passengerscan access the AirAsiaX entertainment system, checked baggage, and a comfort kit for an additional fee.

AirAsia X’s Economy Class also has a childfree Quiet Zone’. This allows adults with an adult ticket to be seated in a cabin that is not accessible to children. Pre-flight purchase of the Quiet Zone will be required.

Premium Economy

AirAsia X premium Economy is comparable to Premium Economy on other airlines’ Business Class. Cabin class offers extra space, perks, and a separate section within an aircraft.

Premium Economy passengers receive complimentary meals from the airline’s inflight menu. They also have the option of choosing their seat and unlimited flight changes. Priority boarding, baggage handling, and priority boarding are all available to them.

AirAsia passengers have access to Xcite Inflight Entertainment, an inflight entertainment system that allows them to listen to music and has a pair of noise-cancelling headphones.

Premium flatbeds have universal power sockets, adjustable headsrests, and built-in personal utility such as tray table and drink holder. Premium seat guests can also receive premium complimentary products such as Pick-A-Seat and Priority Check-In, Priority Boarding and Priority Baggage.  

AirAsia X provides a “Quiet Zone”, cabin on all long-haul flights within its network. This service enhancement is only available to guests over the age of 12. The new “Quiet Zone” cabin has soft lighting and a relaxed atmosphere. This will make for a more enjoyable journey for guests. AirAsia X won the World’s Best and Best Low Cost Airline Premium Class titles, respectively, at the 2015 Skytrax World Airline Awards. These awards were held at the Paris Airshow. At the 2015 Skytrax International Airline Awards, AirAsia Group was also named the Asia’s Best and World’s Best Low Cost Airline for the seventh consecutive year. In-flight entertainment: The Xcite Tab has hours of TV series, music videos, movies, and magazines. The Xcite Tab is a preloaded tablet that has six hours of battery life and is perfect for helping you pass the time while onboard your AirAsia X flight. You can rent the Xcite Tab on all AirAsia X flights, except flights to New Zealand and Nepal.In-flight Food: AirAsia X’s meal service in flight is well-known for its delicious selection of Asean, International, and vegetarian options. Air Asia X Popular Destinations and Hubs:

AirAsia X(AAX) is the medium- to long-haul airline affiliate of AirAsia Aviation Group. It announces new services to Melbourne (Tullamarine), Perth, Australia and Auckland in New Zealand. All flights will take place from 1 November 2022.

These key routes are part of the airline’s strong growth plan. The airline plans to operate 13 routes this year including Sydney, New Delhi and Seoul, Tokyo and Sapporo.

AAX will resume its services to Melbourne (Tullamarine), Perth, and Auckland (via Sydney) starting in November. The frequency of these flights will increase to daily flights by quarter 2023 to meet high demand.

Book on the airasia Super App or website for great fares to Kuala Lumpur and all three new destinations. Prices start at RM499 to Perth, RM699 in Melbourne, and RM1,999 in Auckland. Guests flying to Kuala Lumpur may also be eligible for all-in value fares. Economy fares start at AUD209 from Perth and AUD359 in Melbourne. NZD499 is available from Auckland. Premium Flatbeds start at AUD1,099 and AUD1,999 respectively from Melbourne.

AAX also flies Kuala Lumpur-Sydney with all-in fares starting in November 2022.

Air Asia X Check-in and Boading Pass:  

You will need the following information to check in:

  • Check in 7 days before departure and up to 4 hours prior.
  • You must validate your Web/Kiosk Web/Kiosk passport at the Self Check-In counter if you’re traveling to international destinations. You cannot use your boarding pass until you have stamped proof of validity.
  • You must adhere to Article 6.6 (Document Advisory), and Article 6.5 (“Travel Documents”) of AirAsia X’s Terms & Condition of Carriage.
  • You are not a special-needs passenger. These include expectant mothers, guests traveling with infants, guest(s), with limited mobility, guest(s), traveling to Australia with groups of 9 or more, guest (s) who purchased tickets via FLY-THRU and guest(s), who booked via the internet or call centre with a credit card & an EGV voucher, and who depart within 48 hours of the booking.

You should allow enough time to check in at the airport, go through security and get your bags checked.

Baggage Policy

One bag and one personal item are allowed per passenger. Personal items do not include aidive devices or outer clothing. You must ensure that all carry-on luggage fits in the overhead bin, under the seat or in accordance with the following rules:

  • Maximum dimensions of carry-on luggage: 22 inches x 14 inches x 9 inches/56 cm X36 cm X 23cm (length x width.x height).
  • Maximum weight of carry-on luggage: 15 lb/7kg
