Jomo Kenyatta International Airport

Carry-on Baggage

South African Express allows passengers to bring one piece of hand baggage up to 7 kg. The maximum length of the item cannot exceed 115 cm.

Checked Baggage

South African Express passengers are allowed to bring 20kg of baggage, 20kg for children, and 10kg for infants. Anything over 32kg is not allowed to be carried. Life Plat, Plat Pelt, Gelt, and Pelt passengers have a 30kg checked baggage allowance. Silv passengers can carry 10kg.

Pet policy

Maximum dimensions of the cage must not exceed 1mx1m and maximum weight of 23kg. Cargo is required for cages larger than the specified dimensions. At check-in, your pet must have their original vaccinations and their rabies certificate.

No matter what class of travel, an excess charge of ZAR 300 plus VAT is due. To allow sufficient handling time, check-in should be done at least 90 minutes before departure.

This applies to birds, dogs, and cats. Snakes are not permitted.As part of the orientation and training process, guide dog trainers will have the right to transport the dog by cabin.Additional baggage charges will apply for the container and dog. They will not be included in your free baggage allowance.
