About Africa World Airlines

Africa World Airlines (also known by AWA airlines) operates a private Ghanaian airline. This airline, which is Ghana's largest carrier, offers both domestic as well as international flights.

The airline was formed in 2010 as a joint venture between Hainan Airlines along with other Chinese and Ghanaian investors. The airline received its Air Carrier License from Ghana Civil Aviation Authority in 2011. It began its first commercial flight on December 12, 2012. AWA's hub, Kotoka International Airport is near Accra.

This airline offers domestic flights to many destinations in Ghana. Accra-Kumasi is the most popular route. Tamale and Takoradi, as well as many other international destinations such as Sierra Leone, Liberia, Nigeria and Sierra Leone, are some of the domestic destinations.

Africa World Airlines is expecting 2022 to be a crucial year as the industry recovers after the Coronavirus pandemic. They also plan to continue expanding their flight network.

Africa World Airlines Classes

There is a single cabin on the aircraft and two classes fares: Economy and premium Economy. There are 50 seats on the aircraft. Two cabin attendants will serve passengers.

Seat Selection

Pre-booking is not possible for seats. The airport will assign seats.

Economy Class

Economy seats are designed to maximize comfort and reduce cost. The airport will assign seats.

Premium Economy Class

Premium passengers will have access to port side seats on the Embraer145 aircraft. These single-row seats are available in one row.

Premium passengers traveling together will be allocated the first two rows of twin seats.

Africa World Airlines Facilities

No meals are served on any airline flight. Some routes offer hot beverages as a complimentary service. All routes offer snacks, including fresh fruit juice, croissants, biscuits, and a selection of meat/fish pie. There are no special meals or snacks. Passengers with food allergies or special dietary requirements are encouraged to bring their own snacks.

Africa World Airlines' headquarters is at Kotoka International Airport ACC, which serves Accra, Ghana's capital. Kotoka Airport is the hub for Africa World Airlines. PassionAir Antrak Airlines , Arik Airlines and Starbow Airlines. Arik Air, Dana Air (Burkina), Dana Air, Arik Air, Dana Air and Delta Air Lines fly to and fro this airport.

Online Check In

Africa's airlines have yet to provide online check-in for their flights. Although the airline hopes to offer this service soon passengers will need to continue checking-in at airports.

Airport Check In

Africa World Airlines recommends that passengers arrive at the airport no later than two hours before scheduled departure time. Passengers must present a valid ID issued by the government. Passports are required to travel internationally.

Baggage policy and Fees

Carry-on Baggage

Africa World Airlines allows passengers to bring one piece of cabin baggage, and one personal item. All cabin bags must fit into the overhead bin, and not exceed 5kg. It is a good idea to have soft-sided luggage.

Checked Baggage

Economy passengers have one piece of baggage that can be checked. Premium and Value passengers can check two bags with a combined weight of not more than 23kg.

Extra baggage fees: For domestic flights, excess baggage fees are GH S5.00 Cedis/kg and $3.00 USD/kg for international flights.

Pet policy

Only cats and dogs are allowed on board in the flights

Refund and Cancellation Policy

The airline makes sure that every effort is made to ensure that you and your luggage are safely transported.  Unless otherwise stated in the Convention, we will cancel or fail to operate a flight according to schedule. You have the option to either:
a. transport you as soon as possible or, if necessary, extend the validity your Ticket;
b. Make a refund according to the provisions of Article 11.

We will not be held responsible if any of the above events occurs.
If you cancel Africa World Airlines will only issue a full refund. You can request a refund by writing to the address at the end this Conditions of Carriage.
You will not be entitled for compensation if your flight is cancelled due to Extraordinary Circumstances.

Africa World Airlines is not affiliated with any other airlines. Africa World Airlines is not liable for any missed onward connections due to delays on other Africa World Airlines flights or unaffiliated airlines.

Refunds

1.Tickets are refundable subject to these terms. You can change your tickets to another flight for the same or higher fare, subject to availability and payment of a change fee. You can find all details in our schedule. Before purchasing your ticket, please review the fare rules.
2. If we fail to provide carriage according to the contract of carriage, a refund of the fare (or any portion thereof) shall be made in accordance this Article.
3. On presentation of satisfactory proof, we will be able to refund the ticket holder or the person who purchased the ticket.
4. All tickets issued by Travel Agents must be returned by the Travel Agent. Africa World Airlines cannot refund tickets issued by Travel Agents.
5. No refunds will be granted after the ticket expiration date. No refunds will be granted for tickets that have expired after this date
